We acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which Cowra Civic Centre is built, the Wiradjuri – the original storytellers, musicians, dancers, artists and culture makers of this region. We acknowledge Elders past, present and emerging.
Arts OutWest is pleased to present in conjunction with The Cowra Civic Centre a series of Live & Kicking shows featuring original music artists from The Central West .This session features two of Dubbo’s finest Indie bands Raptor County & Civil Hands. Civil Hands’ music is hand-crafted indie-rock with a dash of joyful pop; REM by way of San Cisco, Ice cream Hands with a smidge of Cloud Control. Civil Hands have played on festival bills at Inland Sea of Sound, Tunes on the Turf, Under Western Skies and Dubbo’s DREAM Festival. Their second album, Skylines Fall, released in 2021 is a perfect encapsulation of their sonic storytelling. Raptor County seek to tell a lifetime of stories set to a rock n roll soundtrack. The band's sound incorporates elements of Americana mashed with progressive blues rock, and lyrics that wrestle with the existential nature of life, love and living the best you can with every remaining second you have.
This will be a Live & Kicking show highlighting the blossoming talents of two fine purveyors of indie rock from Under Western Skies at The Cowra Civic Sunday 9 October. You won’t be able to live stream or download it, you’ve gotta be there to experience it. Grab your tickets now.
